Please join us with your preschooler for a fun night of
beach themed activities. This is a chance for you to see
what types of activities your child participates in at school and
how they are alligned with the RI Early Learning Standards. This
will also be a time for you to have fun one on one time with your
preschooler.

Chariho Child Outreach Screening

before your child can be screened.

The St. Andrew POPS have planned their first event. This will be a
PUMPKIN FEST
OCTOBER 27 AT 11:30AM
6 HILLENDALE FARM RD
WESTERLY, RI
Bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic lunch with you preschooler. Then
take a hayride through the farm property and return to choose a pump-
kin to take home. Enjoy apple cider and cookies while visiting the horses
and chickens. Cost is $3 per child. *Pre-registration is required.

*Extended day parents are responsible for securing transportation for their child. If your child cannot go the teachers will stay at school with them.

**PASTOR JIM will be taking portraits for anyone who missed them the first time. Monday, October 31 at 9:00. If you are interested please let Miss Kerry know.

School Portraits are this week. (Tuesday and Wednesday morning and also Tuesday evening)
If you would still like to sign your child up for portraits it is not too late. Just let a teacher know and bring in your sitting form sheet and a check for the sitting fee.

We will also be having fire drills this month. We are hoping to have a fireman come to school and bring a firetruck. The fireman will talk about fire safety. Please talk with your child about our fire drills if you feel they need to know ahead of time. We will have more information about the fireman visiting later this week.

Don't forget to sign up for your child's Portraits.

This week we will not be doing daily sheets. The children will be working on their first story. The children will draw a picture and dictate their story to one of the teachers. Please come in the room to read them as the week goes on.

We will also be working on:

Story: The Sick Servant

Activities: Marble painting with red and yellow

Farm animals in the block center

Marble works and trains on the rug

Wish List: Mini pumpkins and gourds (for sorting)

Hello All,
School is off to a great start. We have been talking to the children about sharing and what kind of activities are available in our classroom. The children have also been learning the rules and routine of the day. Next week we will be sharing a story from our children's Bible. This story is about how much Jesus loves the little children.

We have a few important reminders:

• Please remember to apply bug spray and sun screen



• A teacher will greet you at the front door at 8:45. The door is locked at 9:00. Please go to back door by playground and tap on window if you are late. A teacher will let you in. This will help the office because they usually cannot get to the door.



• If anyone would like to add another day please let a teacher know. We have a few spots available.



• The first movie night is October 1 from 5-8. The theme is Jonah and the Whale (Veggie Tales). The sign up is on information table.



• Our first parent gathering is on Thursday, September 22 at 6:30.

The next Preschool Parent Advisory Board meeting will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 6:00. We will be planning our next Pot Luck dinner and discussing our Education Night. The Education night went very well.
